Cases of Vaping-Related lung Illness Surge, Health Officials Say

September 7, 2019

The CDC is currently investigating an epidemic of over 450 cases of vaping-related severe lung illnesses in teens and young adults which have caused 5 deaths in the past few days and numerous hospitalizations, including ICU stays and sometimes intubation.  The exact cause is unknown, but the common thread is the use of vaping products.  PLEASE talk to your kids about whether they or their friends vape--nicotine products, flavoring only, THC, CBD, anything.  Until we have further information, steer clear of all e-cigarettes/ vaping products.  Click on the image above for an article about what is going on.  Education goes a long way toward promoting healthy outcomes, and teens often make great decisions when they are informed.  This is a conversation worth having--don't just assume your kid would never do this, or "knows better".
